King of The Hill Guide (alliance vs alliance battle)
Should i participate and how?
Yes! While attacking prisms is something that can only be done by the sharpest edge of strong pvp characters, KOTH is for all! You might have had unwelcoming experiences in previous alliances, but in our alliance we do not KOTH just to win, but to have fun together and share a good time with the alliance. In KOTH you never know what will happen next, and sometimes you might lose a difficult fight but win the KOTH, or you might win an incredible fight but lose the KOTH.
Your level and pvp skills are useful for this, but even if u have neither you are still useful and can even make the difference between a KOTH won or lost! I have even won a KOTH while using a lvl 100 full wis char. Even a lvl 1 char can keep a map, and even if he dies it's enough if he can keep it for just one minute or so to get points for winning. Also if a lvl 100 joins a fight with 2 lvl 200s against eachother, he can turn defeat into victory.
To join the KOTH, turn on your AVA mode from the alignment menu before entering the area. While you can only participate with one character at a time, you can bring a new one as soon as you die. So best preparation is to bring all your characters and alts on all accounts next to the area before it starts. Once you're in the area you just need to try to survive and help your alliance buddies survive. Running and hiding on maps to control them is one strategy, and is especially effective in the end. Usually however the side wins who wins the most fights, and therefore its important to stay close to your allies and join any fight you see to help out. Only in 2 situations should you not join a fight, 1) It's impossible to win (like 5 vs 1), or 2) There's enough allies to win the fight (like 2 lv 200 vs 1 lv 200).
It's also possible to scout an area with a character that has AVA turned off or who died.
Score and winning
The goal of KOTH is to control the most maps for 30 minutes. Every alliance has a bar (top of the screen), and for every minute that passes, whoever controls the most maps during that minute will get +1 to this bar, until its full (30 min).
A map is controlled simply by standing on it, however if there are enemies standing on the same map, whoever has the highest total number of levels will control the map. Characters who are in fight do not count towards the score, so it's better to not enter a fight unless necessary. Because of this the number of allies and enemies in the area also keeps changing. While the bar at the top could show 0 allies in the area, there might be many of them occupied in fights. Every fight can have a max 5 ppl on each side. The ones who lose are turned into gravestones, and winners continue in the KOTH.
A good strategy that also makes KOTH more fun is to make a team with some of your alliance buddies and help eachother out. It's also a great opportunity to make some new friends.
Roles
There are 3 roles you can use during King of The hill. Remember that you can only be one of those roles during a KOTH. These roles play a big role in KOTHs because you can save your teammates from dying and reduce the enemies by first killing them and then sending them to a cemetary. You can choose a role by talking to Hal Ions at the alliance temple.
Healer
Healers can use Healer potions to revive dead allies. Who have been defeated by the enemy. To use the potion you must have a grave to target the potion on.
Undertaker
Undertakers can use Undertaker potions to "kill" enemy graves. By using the potion on an enemy grave, you will send the enemy to a cemetary making him unable to participate in the KOTH you are at.
Sentinel
Sentinels can use potions to auto-aggro enemies on the same map by using potions. This is useful for attacking running people.
Rewards
In our alliance we always emphasize that you having a good time is our goal and the best reward. Therefore we ask everyone to not take KOTH dead serious, but to have fun and even have a good attitude to the enemies. Winning and losing are just details, well especially if we lose . Once we win however, we can place a prism in the territory. The prism can also serve as a zaap which can be pretty useful for getting quicker to some places. After the victory, all nuggets collected by the prism will be distributed to the monsters in the area, and by killing them you get the nuggets. Once our alliance owns the territory, we get a +25% bonus to exp and drops in that area also. Eventhough it is true that our alliance wants to achieve and offer much more to its members than PvP and territories, we believe AVA will be a fun and good thing for the alliance and encourage everyone to participate in KOTH.
Strategies
Stalling
Healing strategy
If you die during a fight and ur team is still fighting, then you can leave the fight if there are no enemies on the map and make someone revive you.
Finding the enemy
Say your in a KOTH in Bonta, and there's many buildings an enemy can run in and hide. It would take ages to search every building and so an easy way to check if there is an enemy on that map is to go to your KOTH tab and look at the bottom. It should have the amount of points, and then an alliance name. The alliance name means that there is a member from that alliance on the map.

Pretty complete guide, this will certainly be useful for people unsure of what to do in a KOTH, good job!
You should add that if you spectate a fight while in a KOTH, you are not counted for the map control, just like someone in a fight, only spectate if you really have to!

As I see we're adding strategies now, I'll add one . Say your in a koth in Bonta, and there's many buildings an enemy can run in and hide. Tyzii, i think you should add your strategy on the guide. You're a council member so you can edit any posts on forum so that you can do moderating. You can also write more to shared posts like this. I also wrote some of that guide by editing Mehes post

Re: King of The Hill Guide (alliance vs alliance battle)
Having a white flag means it is impossible to re-join the koth that you died in, you can join another koth that is currently going on though. You get a white flag from dieing, and then either freeing your soul or an enemy using an undertaker potion on you to send you straight to the grave. Even if you die though, it is possible to not get a white flag. This is possible if you do not become a ghost, and you get an ally to use a healing potion on you to bring you back to life.
The more maps your alliance has, doesn't affect the speed of the timer. If your alliance has more maps than the other alliances, then you will earn 1 point per minute, and no other alliance will. 1 point per minute is a constant time.
Hope this helps
